About The Bakery & Patisserie:
The Grounds of Alexandria houses its own unique artisan Bakery and Patisserie that is located within The Café.
The open plan kitchen layout provides another aspect of intrigue for diners who can observe the Patisserie chefs and bakers working throughout the day. The Grounds Bakery boasts a selection of artisan sourdoughs baked on stone and made from organic flours and seeds, all hand-milled on site.
Bakers experiment with various baking methods, our own yeasts, proofing times and organic ingredients to create a selection of customised sourdoughs exclusive to The Grounds.
We know that around the world there are some different and unique ingredients, such as the charcoal from Hong Kong which you will find in our Bamboo Charcoal Loaf, that can make our sourdough have an interesting and unique flavour profile, and that is why we like to not only source these ingredients locally but internationally to make sure each loaf is made of the best possible resources.
