Discover a new breed of mystery at The Grounds!
Step into the woolly world of The Sheep Detectives for an adventure like no other. In this witty, new breed of mystery, George (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every night, assuming they can’t possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realise they must become the detectives. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.

The Sheep Detectives experience is available daily from Saturday, 25 April to Sunday, 10 May in The Grounds of Alexandria Garden. Keep an eye on our website and social channels to plan your visit, as The Garden may occasionally be closed for private events.
No tickets are required! The Sheep Detectives experience is free to explore when visiting The Grounds of Alexandria. Just remember that access beyond The Garden – including entry into our spectacular laneways – is reserved for guests who have dined at The Cafe, The Potting Shed, or The Garden, so keep your receipt handy if you’d like to explore further.
Walk-ins are always welcome in our venues, but we strongly recommend booking ahead so you don’t miss out, especially during the busy weekend period.
The Sheepish Scoop is a soft serve ice cream inspired by The Sheep Detectives, made as a little stop along your journey through The Garden. But you’d better be quick if you’d like to taste the deliciousness for yourself as it’s only available until 10 May.
No, the sheep will only visit The Grounds of Alexandria on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 2pm, where guests can meet, pat, and cuddle the fluffy residents in The Garden.
Yes, we’re working with a local farm, with the animals’ welfare at the heart of everything we do. The team ensures the sheep are looked after with kindness while visiting The Grounds, and continue to be well cared for when they return home.
Yes! The Sheep Detectives pop-up is designed as a family-friendly adventure for little detectives and grown-ups alike.
Yes, well-behaved pets on leads are welcome in The Garden and other outdoor areas at The Grounds. Unfortunately, they are not permitted in the sheep pen, so please plan your visit accordingly
