We fell in love with Ara & Jorge pretty early on in the planning process, but when they brought in gorgeous alpacas in to be a part of their wedding celebrations it really sealed the deal for us. Read on to hear their favourite moments from the day, the story of how Jorge proposed and see some the beautiful images captured by Gold Hat Photography.
Ara met Jorge seven years ago while he was on vacation in Sydney, and they’ve been inseparable ever since! She said yes in front of the Eiffel tower in October last year.
“He asked me to take a photo of him with the whole tower in the background. I had to walk quite a fair way to capture it all and when I came closer to take another photo, that’s when he got down on one knee and popped the question!” Ah, the city of love.
It was soon time to start planning the wedding. We’re talking a modern, fun, colourful celebration with a Peruvian twist. Our bride, Ara is a graphic designer and created unique wedding stationary from the save the dates, to the invitations and signs on the night. The name cards were postcards with guests names and a pattern on one side, with a personal message on the back. Our groom Jorge is from Peru, so think napkins sourced all the way from South America and the cutest alpacas you ever did see. They totally stole the show.
Ara and Jorge’s funniest memory was seeing everyone break it down on the dance floor. They wish their party went for longer! On starting a new chapter, Ara says, “The day we had been planning for the past year had finally come and I’m just excited for it all to unveil.”
Congratulations Ara and Jorge! Thanks again for choosing The Grounds to celebrate your big day!
