Help us name our newest family member!

Theres’s a new Rooster in the The Grounds chook house that has the chicks swooning. New to the farm family even though he’s a cock, everyone seems to love him!

Our rascally chickens have been following him around in a hot mess as their new knight in shining armour struts his stuff on the big stage. If you’ve seen the movie Chicken Run, then you’ll know exactly the deal. All we can hope is that this handsome devil doesn’t given them even further inspiration to jump the fence and pillage The Garden.

It seemed there could be a potential power play when ‘the new guy’ was seen scoping out Kevin Bacons house. When KB spotted the intruder we all watched with baited breath in anticipation of the showdown. It turns out Kev was quite hospitable and happy for the new guy to check out his diggs. After all, when it comes to the crunch, which came first? The Chicken or The Kev? He’s the one and only true king in the north… i mean pen.

Sooo we can’t keep calling him ‘the new guy’, it feels a bit awkward, he doesn’t much appreciate it and what happens when he’s no longer new guy? Change his name to ‘the old guy’?

All the other animals have had great names. We of course have Kevin Bacon the Pig, Naughty the Goat and Barry (White) the Sheep. The Chickens don’t so much go for names so we tend to give them numbers…  Chicken 1, check. Chicken 2, check. etc.

‘The new guy’ does however need a name and that is what we aim to give him. We normally steal away the honours for naming rights amongst The Grounds team, but we thought it’d be great if you The Grounds family hit us with your best and most creative names for the grand naming of our new top cock.
