By dining in or purchasing takeaway from The Grounds Cafe during the day, you can access our decorated laneways to walk through and take photos. Please keep a copy of your bill or receipt in case it is requested on entry to the laneways.

The Grounds of Alexandria Cafe can accommodate a maximum of 23-24 guests in a single reservation. For larger groups, please consider a reservation at The Potting Shed, or make an enquiry for a private function with our Events Team.
Cancellations must be made at least 2 hours in advance of your reservation. Last-minute cancellations made within this time may be charged a $30 per person fee for the inconvenience. Cancellation charges are not made immediately in case the venue is not contactable within a reasonable time.

Reservations at The Cafe are in high demand, particularly during busy periods, and we want to ensure that customers who have made a booking turn up, or provide us with enough cancellation so that we can offer the table to someone else.
When booking, you will receive a link to attach your card details to your reservation. You booking is not considered confirmed until you have completed this step. Your card details are securely held with your booking and are not identifiable by any of our staff. Your card will only be charged in the event of no-show or last-minute cancellation as per venue policy.
The Grounds of Alexandria Cafe is a fully licensed venue with alcoholic beverages available for purchase after 10am. We are not a BYO venue.
External cakes and desserts are allowed; a $3 per person cakeage fee will apply. The cakeage charge is waived for any cakes pre-ordered via The Grounds Catering.
You are welcome to bring your own table decorations with your reservation, we just ask that any decorations be small enough to fit on the table – unfortunately we cannot accommodate free-standing decorations. Confetti & glitter are not permitted and will incur a $50 cleaning fee if used.
All chicken used at The Grounds of Alexandria Cafe is halal-certified, purchased from an external supplier. Please note, however, that our kitchen is not halal-certified. While all care will be taken to avoid any cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that this will not occur as pork and alcohol products are used in the preparation of other menu dishes.
Dogs are permitted in the outdoor section of The Cafe. Due to table constraints, the largest group we can accommodate with dogs is a table of 6. For larger groups with dogs, please consider dining at The Garden BBQ, or a reservation at The Potting Shed.
Tucked away within The Grounds Cafe is a gorgeous vintage dining room overlooking our working bakery & patisserie. This space is suitable for larger groups and can be pre-booked for Private Dining (Monday – Thursday) or High Tea (Friday – Sunday) – please contact our reception team for more information.
