Local Poetry Roses in the Bunch
of the Month
When you receive a bunch of flowers do you want to get something small? Or do you want to receive something that is big, full and packed with texture & colour? I asked Dan our Art Director this and he didn’t really have much to say, but to the ladies out there I’m sure you will agree… you want to receive a bunch of flowers and say “Whooooaaa, now this is a bunch of flowers!”
The classic Grounds bunch is wild, wispy, organic and unstructured. We use big, bold colours and textures to make our arrangements dynamic and to evoke a sense of being fresh from the garden, which they basically all are – the majority of the flowers and foliage in this bunch are locally and organically grown.
In the featured bunch we’ve featured the use of both guilder and poetry roses which are in season and grown locally in Dural, Sydney.
We love to use a pink monochromatic pallet, which means sticking to the pink palette for flowers, but using a variety of tones and shades of pink. We then use an array of green foliage, always numerous kinds to give different shades of green. In this bunch I’ve used variegated foliage (two tone) and other green foliage that gives the bunch texture and depth.
When putting a bunch together, I always consider the size of flowers and leaves used. I try to use a variety of large, small, thin, fat, dark and light, to accentuate the depth of the bunch, this gives it a wild and dynamic feel.
Here’s what we’ve included in this lovely bunch:
- Local Poetry Roses
- Paper Daisies
- Guilder roses
- Coral Charm Peonies
- Variegated Ivy
- Banksia Rose Foilage
- Soft Gum
