Escape the hustle and bustle of city life with a delightful high tea experience. It’s the perfect opportunity to pause and indulge, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying time with family and friends.
Located in the heart of the Sydney CBD, our stylish venue offers a welcoming atmosphere for a memorable afternoon. Your booking includes a beautifully presented high tea menu featuring a delicious assortment of sweet and savoury treats and a complimentary tea, coffee, or juice for each guest. Additional drinks will be available for purchase on the day.
The City High Tea takes place at The Grounds of the City (Shop RG12, 500 George Street, Sydney). The Grounds of the City is located on the ground floor of The Galeries shopping centre, fronting onto George Street.
Please aim to arrive 10 – 15 minutes prior to your session.
Tickets are available for $65 each (+ booking fees). Please note that a minimum of 2 tickets (max. 12 tickets) must be purchased for each session.
Our high tea set menu can be adjusted to accommodate vegetarian dietary restrictions. Unfortunately we cannot make other changes to the high tea menu, however we can arrange an alternative – please contact our reception team prior to booking.
The closest train station is Town Hall. The Grounds of the City is located on the ground floor of The Galeries shopping centre, which has direct access from to Town Hall station. Gadigal Metro Station is within a 5 minute walk.
Buses stop frequently on York, Park and Druitt Streets.
The nearest light rail stop is QVB. The Grounds of the City is located just south of the QVB light rail stop on George Street, opposite the Queen Victoria Building.
Taxis and Rideshare (e.g. Uber, Ola, etc.) can drop off / pick up in the surrounding streets of the CBD, but please note that George Street is a pedestrian-only zone, so direct vehicle access is not permitted.
As The Grounds of the City is located in the heart of the CBD, in a pedestrian-only zone and does not have an onsite car park, we do not recommend driving as an option. Should you need to drive, however, there are several privately operated car parks in the surrounding area, including at the nearby QVB (access via York Street). Please pay attention to any traffic directions, road closures or restrictions.
