Escape the city rush and settle in for an afternoon of indulgence at The Grounds of The City. Located in The Galeries, just moments from Town Hall Station and the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), our Afternoon Tea brings a little luxury to the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
Enjoy our take on a classic high tea experience, featuring a beautifully presented selection of sweet and savoury bites. Think lobster cones, wagyu beef pastrami sandwiches and delicate pastries, from caramel mille-feuille to chocolate and hazelnut tarts, all accompanied by your choice of complimentary tea, coffee or juice. Additional drinks are available to order on the day.
The City Afternoon Tea is available by advance booking only, so be sure to reserve your experience ahead of your visit. Walk-in bookings for this experience are not available.
Please note that we can alter our menu for vegetarian requirements, but cannot make any changes or modifications for other dietary needs. Dietary requirements must be declared at the time of booking as we cannot accommodate last-minute requests made on the day.

Afternoon Tea at The Grounds of The City is a feast for the senses! You’ll enjoy a curated selection of sweet and savoury treats and cup of tea, coffee, or juice. All items are plated to share and are perfect for catching up with friends and family.
Each guest receives one complimentary drink of tea, coffee, or juice. Additional drinks, including alcohol, can be purchased on the day. Alcohol is only available to guests 18+ years and photo ID may be required.
Our standard menu can be adjusted for vegetarian guests. Unfortunately we cannot alter or change the high tea menu to suit any other dietary requirements. For further information, please contact us on (02) 9699 2225 prior to booking. While we do our best to accommodate, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee allergen-free food.
Groups of up to 5 guests can book online for $70 per person (+ booking fees). Larger groups of 6-12 people can contact us directly on (02) 9699 2225 to arrange your booking.
The experience takes place at The Grounds of The City, Shop RG12, 500 George Street, Sydney. We’re on the the ground floor of The Galeries, fronting George Street.
