It’s Kevin Bacon here.
Remember me? Just kidding, of course you do, I’ve only been gone three days…
My new life on the farm is pretty sweet. I’d give the mud baths an 11/10 and while I miss my little chickens, there’s a new crew up here that were very friendly from the moment they realised I make for a good bed. There are three little people who won’t stop following me around too… maybe they’ve never seen such a good looking pig? Yeah, that’s probably it.
Anyway, it turns out I’ve got a whole bunch of free time up here now that I’ve retired. There’s no news yet on a chess table installation or bingo night at the local club, and so to keep my brain sharp in the meantime I thought I’d pen a blog post on my last day at The Grounds!
After almost six years, my Grounds family pulled out all stops for my big farewell bash. I’ve crashed a few celebrations in my day, and attended more weddings than that bridesmaid from ‘27 Dresses’, but can assure you nothing really prepares you for your own party!
They jazzed up The Garden in my favourite colour; Mother nature turned on the sunshine; the kiddies decorated masks and wrote me sweet little farewell letters; we fired up the fairy floss machine to raise over $250 for the RSPCA); and our pals at Pass the Pigs handed out games to little tots who dressed up like me; and I pigged out on tomatoes – it was epig!
Thanks to everyone who came down and celebrated! If you missed it, here’s a gallery with some of my favourite snaps from the day…
If you want to check in on me in, you’re welcome to come by for a visit! I’m just three hours north of Sydney at an awesome farm called The Riverside Escape. If a virtual follow is more your style, check out my new estate on Facebook or Instagram – I’m already a bit of a star (which I’m sure won’t surprise you one bit).
