SO. MUCH. CHOCOLATE.
Easter at The Grounds is always a pretty sweet time, and this year was no eggception! As well as being one of the only times it’s acceptable to eat chocolate for breakfast, it’s also a perfect excuse to gather your loved ones and come together for a meal or a heated debate on whether you should eat your chocolate bunny from its ears or tail first.
From Easter egg hunts to high-tea, freshly baked hotties, eggspresso martinis galore and oh, did we mention a GIANT 500KG EASTER EGG?!, it was all happening over the long weekend. Here is a look at a few of our favourite moments.
We were up bright and early on Saturday morning prepping for our annual Easter egg hunt. With 30,000 Cadbury Easter eggs hidden through our garden, and a few golden eggs waiting to be found in eggschange for a special prize, spirits were high and so were our sugar-levels.
For those who felt like being a little it eggstra, we hosted a high-tea in the Atrium on Easter Sunday with pretty florals and tasty treats, pretty fancy huh!
And then in true Grounds tradition, we cracked into our giant easter egg and celebrated by sharing the whole thing with our local community. Made with 500kg of chocolate in a custom-made mould, this baby takes 5 days to create, pretty impressive, right?
To those of you still brave enough to be snacking on the last few eggs, we salute you. And we would like to extend a huge, warm thank you to all the legends who spent the long weekend with us, Easter at The Grounds would not be the same without you! We can’t wait to do it all over again next year.
In the meantime, it’s time to get ready to celebrate something else, or should we say, someone else. Mum’s the word this May! Head over here to see what’s on for Mother’s Day events at The Grounds.
