The Wedding of Damian & Sajah, 4th January 2018
This love story, which we can easily describe as a real-life fairytale, started four years ago in the pastry section of our very own Grounds Cafe!
It all stems back to 2014 when our pastry chef, Damian, locked eyes with Sajah, our marketing manager, across the bakery and the rest, as they say, was history… well Sajah may have mentioned it took Damian following her around for about 3 months before she agreed to go on a date but who’s counting? From that point, it didn’t take Damian long to win her her over with plenty of coffee dates, romancing, travelling, laughter and love.

Fast forward to 4 years later, in January of this year it was time to say ‘I do’. With all of the history and memories made here over the years, Damian said it made perfect sense for them to choose The Grounds as their venue, not only because this is where their fairytale began, but also because of their busy schedules. It was important for them to choose somewhere they trusted and where everything would be taken care of in-house so they wouldn’t have to worry about too many details. We love a good wedding ourselves, especially when the story is so close to our hearts, so this one was pretty special for us to be a part of too.
When asked about how they went about planning the wedding, Sajah said, “We let the team at the grounds manage most things! But as marketer, naturally I was a little obsessed with the wedding stationary.”
Damian’s favourite moment of the evening? “Walking into The Garden and seeing all of our friends and family from all over the world come together in one place, it was incredibly special.”
